Home to approximately 30,000 residents, the welcoming city of Southlake, Texas, is located outside of Dallas-Fort Worth. Grapevine Lake is just to the North offering boating activities. Southlake is just a quick trip to the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Some of the largest employers in the Southlake area are TD Ameritrade, Sabre Holdings and a wide variety of medical offices. Residents enjoy living in Southlake because of its accessibility to both Dallas and Fort Worth; residents can drive 30 minutes in either direction and enjoy plays, symphonies, rodeos, and fine dining. The community wholeheartedly supports the Dragons! Unlike other school districts, children are Dragons from kindergarten through high school. This creates a bond that extends well beyond their high school years.
The Southlake Newcomers Club, a social women’s group, provides area women a great way to meet new friends. I am the Program Chair this year. Call me to get connected. Southlake offers excellent schools and a warm community atmosphere. Many families choose to reside in Southlake because it offers a more family-friendly environment. Interesting shops, cultural events, and excellent restaurants all combine to make Southlake one of the most attractive suburbs of Dallas-Fort Worth. The Southlake Town Square is a popular place to enjoy a nice long walk with the family or their many options for shopping. Southlake is a great place for families and retirees to reside.
Southlake is an exciting place to live with a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The retail stores, restaurants, and other shops make Southlake a great place for shopping. Its proximity to the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area makes it a convenient place for commuters who do not want to live life in frenetic Dallas-Fort Worth. Many young families and young professionals enjoy living in Southlake because it offers resources, including top-notch public schools and exciting economic opportunities. Tarrant County is located northwest of downtown Dallas. Most of the residential property in Southlake is made up of single-family homes. The Town Square features some townhome living and new condo building. There are no apartments in the city.
The Marq Southlake is the premier recreational area for residents who enjoy swimming, running, and working out. Golfers can enjoy spending time at Timarron Golf Course nestled inside Timarron subdivision which is a planned community consisting of over 1,200 beautiful houses situated around the Byron Nelson Golf Course. Bicentennial Park features an expansive tennis facility with pickleball courts being added. The Marq recreational center, sports fields, and the Miracle Field League. The unique league was designed to provide developmentally disabled children the chance to foster a love and appreciation of the game of baseball.
Southlake’s go-to area for retail shopping is Southlake Town Center. Great restaurants and retail stores are featured in this great commercial center. Southlake offers many options for dining. For an upscale environment with a new take on American classics, be sure to stop by Del Frisco’s Grille. If you are looking for fresh seafood in an intimate and lavish setting, Trulucks could be your next favorite spot. Mesero, on the other hand, offers a more casual atmosphere where the flavors are the show's star.
Residents of Southlake have an abundance of things to do every day of the week. Bicentennial Park is a popular place for residents to gather, exercise, and socialize. An enormous and diverse facility, the park features baseball fields, basketball courts, and picnic areas. Hotels, such as Cambria Hotel Southlake and the new Westin, are also great places to host conventions, meetings, weddings, and other events.
Art in the Square takes place annually in April and lasts three days. The art festival features over 100 artists every year. Food vendors, drink vendors, and entertainment options for every age group make Art in the Square one of the most popular events in Southlake. The event is produced by the Southlake Women’s Club. The Southlake Chamber of Commerce hosts Oktoberfest every year and features wiener dog races and other exciting events, and great food.
The schools in Southlake are served by the Carroll Independent School District known for excellence in academics, sports, and other activities. In recent years, CISD has held the state titles in Cross Country, Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving, Baseball, Girls Soccer, Boys Tennis, Girls Water Polo, Boys Wrestling, Boys 4x400 Relay, Girls and Boys Golf, and Football. The Emerald Bells Dance Team competed on America’s Got Talent and the Ellen Show. Dragon Cheerleaders Won Awards at NCA Nationals.
